Jobsmiths is a family company who have been working together in other peoples homes and gardens for 11 years. Prior to that we worked on our own homes and gardens, and followed independent design careers.

Fate took a hand and brought us together to work for a friend with a new empty house - even though the heavy work of installing bathroom, kitchen, loft extension and sanding the bare floorboards had already been done by the time we heard about it, the painting and decorating had not, and they had a deadline for moving in!

Working for one friend led to another, and we began offering design advise based on our formal training and former careers, and actual hands on work with experience gained at our father’s knee and mother’s hand, and from working on our own homes.

The word of mouth message took us beyond the first circle of friends, and extended the service offered - watering plants and feeding cats whilst carrying out our handyman work in the homes of our clients whilst they were away, and key-holding in case of emergency for those with tenants.

Jobsmiths offers a unique service from design and sourcing through to finishing touches, with an imaginative but down to earth attitude, helping you to get the most out of your home and garden
